Bigfork Community GardenThe goal of the Bigfork/Ferndale Community Garden is to build everyone's sense of belonging by increasing and enhancing community gardening in the Greater Bigfork area.
St. Patrick's supports the Community Garden by providing the land and the infrastructure for the garden. The church is also used during garden events, and one a year we bless the garden and want to include this space as one to remember God's creation. |
Bigfork Food BankIn operation since 1983, the Bigfork Food Bank distributes both donated and purchased food to more than 500 people a year, in the Bigfork area. The goal of the food bank is to provide basic nutritional support to those in need.
St. Patrick's has continued to support the foodbank in many different ways. All year long the congregation brings in donations on a weekly basis that is delivered to the foodbank. We also provide volunteers to staff and assist with food distribution at the food bank each year in August. Our community garden provides fresh fruit and vegetables during the summer and early fall to the Food Bank. St. Patrick's also takes up special donations of food and money during the Advent and Lenten season. |
Valley Neighbors is a non-profit organization that welcomes immigrants to the Flathead Valley connecting them to resources, while building community, language and cultural bridges. Their belief is that immigrants make communities better.
St. Patrick's supports this charity by having them come speak to our congregation during the Lenten season, and taking up a special collection to support their cause. During the Advent season a special offering of bedding, home items and personal care items was donated by our members to provide the basic necessities to new immigrants. |
